William Carcara

William S. Carcara is a thirty-year law enforcement veteran who retired in 2002 as the Chief of Police of the Jefferson County (KY) Police Department.  

Currently, Chief Carcara is the Corporate Security Director for Al J. Schneider Company, an independent holding company that owns various hospitality and commercial properties in Louisville, Kentucky.  Chief Carcara is also an adjunct professor at Ivy Technical Community College System of Indiana.

Chief Carcara has been a guest speaker at the Texas Crime Prevention Officers Association Annual Conference, Kentucky Crime Prevention Officers Conference, The New York Crime Prevention Officers Association, and the National Crime Prevention Council’s Annual Convention.  Additionally, Chief Carcara has instructed hundreds of law enforcement and church leaders throughout the United States and Canada regarding the various challenges surrounding church crime prevention and security.  Chief Carcara has authored a number of crime prevention related articles for the national publications. 

Col. Carcara has a Master of Science degree from the University of Louisville and is a graduate of the FBI’s National Academy.
